Despite Tyrannosaur being an intense and heavy picture, the acting, direction and script all make it so much more than another gritty British drama
Whilst an above average espionage thriller, a number of issues in the script and plotting of The Debt come together to prevent it from being anything but merely a two-hour diversion.
Midnight in Paris does have its problems, and I’m not sure why it has been met with such universal praise, but the film delivers enough charm and humour to paper over the cracks.
Kevin Smith’s Red State has enjoyable stuff in it, but suffers from its desire to bludgeon you mercilessly around the head with its message. Fanatics are nasty pieces of work? Yeah – we knew that, Kev.
The Inbetweeners is very funny. There are some shit gags (in both content and quality) towards the end, but my only problem is a large (if pretentious) one. It’s not a film.
